Editorial role for Braggins

UK Industrial Vision Association Director Don Braggins has been appointed as an Associate Editor for the peer-reviewed SPIE publication Optical Engineering.

UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) Director Don Braggins has been appointed as an Associate Editor for the peer-reviewed SPIE publication Optical Engineering.

Braggins' responsibilities will be in the area of machine vision and pattern recognition.

The position involves the assignment of reviewers for papers in the field and the decision on whether to accept, decline or request revision of the papers based on the reviews.

The appointment further confirms Braggins' standing in the world of industrial vision.

One of the original founders of the UKIVA in 1992, he is also an Associate Editor of the publication Sensor Review.

Braggins said: "I was honoured to be asked to take this position".

"Optical Engineering receives around 35 papers a year, reflecting the growth in research in the field".

"The ability to be aware of the very latest in research will also be invaluable for my advisory responsibilities within the UKIVA".
