manager
Vision association flies to the rescue of distraught production manager who needed spare parts for US vision system.
The reputation of the UK Industrial Vision Association as a central focus for all matters related to industrial vision was reinforced recently when the association respond to an emergency call from a distraught production manager who needed spare parts for his vision system The US-manufactured illumination source on a vision system on one of the production lines had failed totally, and he had resorted to using a human inspector

The UKIVA is adding two forum sessions to its popular free seminar programme at the IPOT/Machine Vision Show in February 2005 at the NEC.
This company felt this was most unsatisfactory and needed to be corrected in as short a time as possible.
The original UK supplier of the illumination source no longer handled the equipment for this manufacturer and although it could offer an alternative source on about a two-week delivery time, this was not acceptable.
A direct approach to the manufacturer in the USA had been unsuccessful due to a holiday, hence the approach to the Ukiva.
The association issued an urgent email to all the members, which not only located a connection-compatible alternative but also identified the distributor for the original manufacturer.
The result was that a replacement unit was delivered the following morning.
