Vision association flies to the rescue of distraught production manager who needed spare parts for US vision system.

The reputation of the UK Industrial Vision Association as a central focus for all matters related to industrial vision was reinforced recently when the association respond to an emergency call from a distraught production manager who needed spare parts for his vision system.

The US-manufactured illumination source on a vision system on one of the production lines had failed totally, and he had resorted to using a human inspector.

This company felt this was most unsatisfactory and needed to be corrected in as short a time as possible.

The original UK supplier of the illumination source no longer handled the equipment for this manufacturer and although it could offer an alternative source on about a two-week delivery time, this was not acceptable.

A direct approach to the manufacturer in the USA had been unsuccessful due to a holiday, hence the approach to the Ukiva.

The association issued an urgent email to all the members, which not only located a connection-compatible alternative but also identified the distributor for the original manufacturer.

The result was that a replacement unit was delivered the following morning.
