Although Jobshare-uk covers all sectors nationwide, it has a specialist recruitment consultant for science, engineering and technology, funded by the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC).
The UKRC offers a wide range of support to women who want to return to work following a career break or to embark on a career in the sector, and to science and engineering employers.
However, demand for more flexible working opportunities comes increasingly from men and the new recruitment service caters for both sexes.
Jobshare-uk is run by recruitment agency Equals One, which specialises in flexible working, in partnership with the UKRC and the work-life balance charity Working Families.
The venture is supported by Yorkshire Forward, and the Department of Communities and Local Government Quality Part-Time Work Fund.
Annette Williams, Director of the UKRC, said, "Flexible working is vital to attract more women into science, engineering and IT and to encourage those who have left the sector to return".
"Some science and engineering employers are offering part time and flexible working opportunities but many more are needed".
"This new service will support employers which need skilled staff and help individual talented, highly-qualified women to use their specialist skills and experience".
Vivienne Duke said.
"Web technology has enabled us to roll out nationally seven years of experience in advising employers and potential employees on job share and other flexible working possibilities".
The service will remain free to job seekers and is free to employers until April 2008.
