Disconnectors include defeatable door interlock

A Kraus and Naimer product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 29, 2008

The interlock mechanism can be defeated by use of a simple tool if access is required to the panel interior while maintaining the power supply to important devices within the panel.

The 2008 switch disconnector catalogue from uk solenoid features the all-new M800 defeatable door interlock device fitted as standard to a range of switch disconnectors from 40 to 160A AC-21A.

Suitable for use as a normal switch disconnector, the interlock mechanism can be defeated by use of a simple tool if access is required to the panel interior while maintaining the power supply to important devices within the panel, such as data logging equipment.

A major additional safety feature of the M800 is that the shaft and handle are also interlocked in the "off" position if a padlock is fitted to the handle with the door closed.

The design of the M800 device also allows successful installation with as much as +/-3mm of misalignment between the switch shaft and handle.
