Wiltshire NHS Trust eliminates scale fouling

The North Wilts and Swindon Healthcare NHS Trust has incorporated the latest AquaVantage digital electronic scale control system into a newly refurbished plant room.

To avoid the previous problems of heavy limescale fouling in the domestic water plant and pipework from the boiler room at Charter House Mental Health Unit, Trowbridge, Wiltshire - the Building Maintenance Department of the North Wilts and Swindon Healthcare NHS Trust has incorporated the latest AquaVantage digital electronic scale control system into a newly refurbished plant room to prevent reoccurrence.

Trowbridge is a very hard water area with pH at 7.4 and a total hardness measuring 320ppm.

The refurbished plant room has two new Lochinvar water heaters feeding the recirculating domestic hot water services with an AquaVantage digital system fitted to both water heaters as well as the mains cold water supply to stop fouling not just in the hot water but to provide a complete site solution.

The AquaVantage 'uniquely' induces a transverse electromagnetic pulsed ployfrequency field in the water system, forcing scaling calcium ions to form inert non-scaling crystals of calcium carbonate to safely wash through the system, preventing scaling of pipework heat exchangers and vital operating components.

The pulsed electromagnetic frequency field uses the conductivity of the water to extend protection throughout the entire circulation system.
