Linear motion systems on sale or return basis
Motion control specialist Unimatic Engineers has introduced a new linear motion system that is set to shake up the UK market for linear bearings.
Designed as a truly universal product, the 6K motion controller provides ñ10V or step and direction outputs, and offers Ethernet connectivity as standard, as well as one RS232 port and one RS232/485 port.
Ethernet capability gives the 6K flexible communications options, providing inherent compatibility with a wide range of other Ethernet-equipped control devices such as HMIs, PLCs, industrial I/O and vision systems.
In addition, multiple 6K controllers can be networked over Ethernet, making motion control an accessible option factory-wide.

Motion controllers join the range
Mechatronics specialist Unimatic Engineers is to distribute the Trio range of motion controllers alongside the precision motion machine elements already in its product portfolio.
Comprehensive onboard I/O suits the 6K to a wide range of applications.
Two models of the 6K provide users with either 9 or 18 trigger inputs for high speed position capture, plus either 4 or 8 digital outputs.
Each 6K model also provides: home, positive and negative limits per axis; drive fault, shutdown and enable functions per axis; a 12MHz encoder input per axis; and an auxiliary encoder input for following.
In addition, an expandable architecture enables the 6K to grow as the application demands change over time.
An I/O expansion module provides up to 32 channels of analogue or digital I/O.
As many as eight modules can be linked to each 6K, providing up to 128 additional digital inputs and 128 additional outputs, and up to 64 additional analogue inputs each with 12 bit resolution.
Where necessary, remote I/O points can be accommodated, with the flexible architecture enabling expansion modules to be located up to 30m apart.
The 6K is packaged with the powerful Motion Planner application development software, enabling seamless integration and rapid setup of the motion controller.
Motion Planner makes use of programming wizards to simplify repetitive programming tasks, and provides a SmartEditor tool to virtually eliminate debugging time.
Also included with Motion Planner are the ServoTuner tool which provides a graphical tuning interface for optimising servo axes and PanelMaker, which provides a simple environment for creating operator interface screens.
The 6K motion controllers and accessories are designed for mounting on a standard DIN rail for simplified panel assembly. Request a free brochure from Unimatic Engineers ...
