Software identifies best actuator Unimatic now has available free of charge Cylinder Select, a software program that automates the identification of appropriate electric cylinders for linear actuation applications.
Users simply enter size, load and motion parameters plus mechanical options, and then the program performs all the necessary calculations and displays a list of appropriate linear actuators from the Parker EMD range.
It also suggests drive motor options.
The software is based on an Excel spreadsheet, so is easy to use.
Its virtually instantaneous identification of design options will save engineers many hours of complex yet repetitive calculations required to assess all the possible options for any specific application.
