"Tailoring AutoCAD 2005" has been updated and expanded for the new AutoCAD 2005 software from Autodesk.

The 260-page e-book contains step-by-step tutorials and explanations for learning to customise the popular computer-aided design software.

"Tailoring AutoCAD 2005" is published exclusively in Adobe Acrobat format.

The new version includes sections on: understanding DXF (drawing interchange format) files; using the cal (calculator) command for scalar and vector calculations; customising the tool palettes with objects and programming code; and decoding the codes generated by the new field command (undocumented by Autodesk).

As with earlier editions, the e-book covers tutorial on: modifying the AutoCAD user interface; creating aliases and keyboard shortcuts; changing the toolbar and writing macros; customising menus and writing menu macros; creating custom linetypes and hatch patterns; working with shp files for shapes/fonts; and writing scripts and AutoLisp programs.

The "Tailoring AutoCAD 2005" e-book is available now as an Adobe Acrobat file for delivery via e-mail, ftp, or web browser.

The e-book is also available on CD.

The e-book: features all illustrations in full colour; is formatted for printing on standard 8.5 x 11 paper; has margins designed for three-hole punching; and is available for immediate delivery.
