Fast accurate balancing of prop-shaft assemblies
A new range of fully automatic prop-shaft balancing machines aims to meet automotive industry demands for fast and accurate balancing of single and multilink prop-shaft assemblies.
Measurement system brings a sense of balance
Component balancing specialist, Universal Balancing has launched a new range of high precision, nonrotating measurement systems for use with rigid components up to 1500kg.
The new system provides true four-channel inputs to achieve accurate balancing of even complex components, such as multi-element prop-shaft assemblies.
High capability software, backed by the BTD-UNI 44's simple and robust industrial pc unit, enables the equipment to be configured precisely to user requirements and to deliver cycle time savings of up to 50% on most balancing operations.
An intuitive, touch screen display with pop-up menus and step-by-step screen prompts ensures simple operation.
On initiation of the balancing cycle, the system spins the component to a preset speed and provides an instantaneous, 'real time' readout of unbalance and angle in both polar and digital forms.
Fully automatic variants will stop the component, before indexing it to the correct position for manual, semi- or fully automatic milling, drilling (subtractive) or welding (additive) material compensation.
On manual systems, an encoder tracking system coupled to the BTD-UNI 44's computer rotates the polar display as the component is oriented to the correct angular position, which is highlighted on-screen.
All results can be output as a hard copy certificate of conformance or transferred directly to industry-standard SPC or other Windows-compatible spreadsheets and reporting software.
Modem support is also offered as standard on the new system, enabling remote operation and an off-site diagnostics capability. Request a free brochure from Universal Balancing ...
