The University of Bradford will host a public lecture next week on the final years of the ill-fated car manufacturer MG Rover.

The lecture, entitled "MG Rover - my part in its downfall", will be presented by Ian Pogson, former Project Manager with Rover Powertrain.

It will take place at 1800 BST on Tuesday 17th May 2005 in the John Stanley Bell Lecture Theatre in the Richmond Building on the main campus of the university.

Members of the public are welcome to attend, and no prior booking is necessary.

Ian Pogson was in China working with Shanghai Automotive when the news broke that MG Rover was being put into administration.

In his lecture he will give a personal view of the company since BMW sold the business five years ago.
