Casting system keeps servo windings in place
SEW-Eurodrive uses Araldite epoxy casting systems for embedding the stator wiring in the housings of servomotors its used in automation applications.

The company's product range includes gear motors, frequency inverters, electrical drives and servomotors with or without gearboxes used in a wide range of applications from furniture manufacturing and beverage production to packaging machines and harbour cranes.
For the assembly of servomotors used in automation applications where a high dynamic performance is required, SEW-Eurodrive uses Araldite epoxy casting systems for embedding the stator wiring in the motor housings.
By using the Araldite CW 229 Aradur HW 229-1 casting system from Huntsman Advanced Materials, to embed the stator winding, SEW-Eurodrive obtains solid and reliable electrical insulation on these components which is extremely effective at dissipating heat in an environment where maximum permanent temperatures are around 155C.

Araldite CW 229 resin with Aradur HW 229-1 hardener is a liquid, hot curing two-component epoxy casting system containing mechanically reinforced fillers.
This system is readily processed into a resilient polymer with excellent mechanical and electrical characteristics.
Once cured, it exhibits exceptional resistance to thermal cycling as well as thermal endurance properties.
It is a UL recognised polymeric system with a thermal index of 200C.
The Araldite CW 229 Aradur HW 229-1 casting system is designed for use in the manufacture of electrical insulating components and for use as electrical insulation for indoor medium and high voltage application types including SF6 insulated types.
