Variohm Components are offering a new brochure describing how their LMI Selcom range of laser measuring transducers can be used for web or finished product inspection in the Tyre, Rubber and Plastics Industries The 6 page brochure describes the equipment which has been specially developed to operate in the hot, sticky, smoky conditions associated with making measurements on the dark yet shiny surfaces which are common in these industries

It describes how features such as shape and dimensions may be measured very accurately without factors such as surface texture, colour, brightness, slope, speed, material temperature or the angle at which the measurement is taken influencing the results.

Typical applications described include thickness and profile measurements on web material or on other more complex objects and the inspection of Green tyres for defects in sidewalls and treads.
