Distribution deal covers load cell support
The Zemic loadcell range covers capacities from a few hundred grams to around 500 tons, with over fifty families of single-point, compression, S-type, shear beam and spoke-type load cells.
The detectors are mounted on a silicon block shaped like a cross.
The silicon block is produced using lithography so the production accuracy is very high.
This results in a sensor which has a resolution of 12 bits and an accuracy of 10 bits, which corresponds to a maximum angular error of 0.35 degrees.
The Repeatability and Hysteresis values are equally impressive at 0.1 and 0.045 degrees respectively.
The ARS 300C provides a continuous, unambiguous uninterrupted output signal over all 360 degrees of rotation.
In addition to the sensor element the ARS 300C contains and integral microprocessor which can be programmed to provide both analogue and digital outputs.
It can therefore provide an absolute readout of shaft position and simultaneously generate switched outputs.
The microprocessor also enables the ARS 300C to be used on fieldbus systems such as SPI, PWM or CAN-bus.
Careful design has ensured that the ARS 300C is fully compliant with all the latest EMC requirements.
Optimisation in the design stage and rigorous control over component quality has resulted in a sensor that will operate over the temperature range from -40degC to +125degC without exceeding the design specification.
Because this device doesn't utilise any form of sliding contact the only items which are subject to any wear are the bearings, they effectively determine the devices lifetime.
Contelec have, therefore, selected bearings which are good for over 100,000 hours of running time so there is no cause for concern in from this quarter.
Typical applications include monitoring the position of a windsock, controlling textile machinery and maintaining camera focus.
The electronic circuits inside the ARS 300C are fully encapsulated so that machinery to which the ARS 300C is fitted can be shipped anywhere in the world without any loss in performance.
The ARS 300C has an overall body diameter of only 22 mm and all connections to the device are made via an integral ribbon cable.
