Victrex USA has revealed plans to construct a second manufacturing facility at its main UK site in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire for the production of Victrex Peek high performance polymer.

The new plant represents a 50% increase in production capacity for the company.
Current capacity stands at 2800t annually.
"With an estimated capital cost of GBP 29 million (approximately $53.5 million), the construction of the new plant is scheduled to begin in spring 2006 with completion expected in late 2007", says Tim Walker, Production and Technical Director at Victrex.
"The new 1200m2 plant will be a state-of-the-art, automated facility".
"It will provide further security of supply to customers, both in terms of increased capacity and as a second, stand-alone, source of Victrex Peek".
