A number of noncontact Vegapuls 68 radar level transmitters have been purchased to monitor the constantly changing river levels in the Humber Estuary.

Puls 68 is a noncontact device making it ideal for solids measurement with a range of more than 70m.
It has options for two-wire loop-powered, Hart, Profibus and Foundation Fieldbus protocols.
Additionally Puls 68 is part of the company's plics system, and so it features integral echo, datalogging and trend display, and shares the design, operating and build of all other instruments in the Vega range, making it easy to use and understand.
It is also designed with the application in mind, with a small antenna size and narrow beam angle, and an integral aiming swivel and flange to allow for positioning and angles of repose.
New microwave components now enable the sensor to evaluate reflection signals, which are smaller by a factor of 100 compared with other radar sensors.
It also has a high-power signal to easily handle long ranges, dust, air movement and fine particle sizes common in solids applications.
With a high temperature specification of 200C at the flange and higher with air cooled/cleaned options, it can be used for almost all applications in solids handling. Request a free brochure from Vega Controls UK ...
