Seat design software set for conference
display
Vistagy has been invited to present its Seat Design Environment at the annual International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) Innovative Seating 2007 conference in Frankfurt, Germany.
Vistagy has been invited to present its Seat Design Environment (SDE) software to influential thought-leaders in the transportation interiors industry at the annual International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) Innovative Seating 2007 conference in Frankfurt, Germany on the 5th-7th of February The SDE is the seat design industry's only 3D CAD-integrated solution for capturing, modelling and sharing complete digital seat representations from a single-source product definition
The software supports all aspects of seating development, from styling and seat architecture to prototyping and manufacture.
Vistagy executives will discuss the latest research and technology trends in seat trim engineering during a session to be conducted at 12:20PM.
on Tuesday, February 6 at the Sheraton Frankfurt Hotel and Towers Conference Center.
"We are honored by IQPC's invitation to participate in their conference because it is a testament to our expertise in the seat development industry", said Steve Luby, President and CEO at Vistagy.
"By working closely with leading seating experts from international OEMs and top-tier suppliers, we've created a unique solution that generates early feedback on design producibility and cost, communicates 3D design data efficiently across all engineering teams, and defines seat systems in the same powerful CAD software that is used to model entire transportation interiors".
"These capabilities ensure that ergonomics, comfort, and styling goals are achieved by the seat manufacturers, giving them a clear competitive advantage".
Vistagy's new Seat Design Environment software is the first specialised software application directly integrated into commercial 3D CAD systems that specifically addresses the unique, end-to-end process for developing transportation seat systems.
With the SDE, seat engineers can, for the first time, capture a complete digital definition of a seat system in 3D by associating all non-geometric information, such as seam styles, cover material and sewing specifications, with the relevant geometry in a single source 3D CAD model.
The software takes into account all aspects of seat design, including seat architecture development and trim cover design and manufacture, while automatically generating manufacturing documentation such as bills of materials, sewing reports and pattern drawings.
Engineers across development teams can concurrently work on the same model and be assured that all design changes are quickly and automatically captured, propagated and shared across their teams.
As opposed to traditional seat design methods that rely on simplistic models and extensive physical prototyping, Vistagy has created the SDE to help engineers rapidly explore new designs by providing virtual prototyping and manufacturing simulation tools to streamline and automate the engineering process.
These tools not only reduce cycle times and costs, but they ensure that all styling and engineering requirements are satisfied prior to starting production.
