Victrex Europa has reorganised its business structure in response to changes in the markets it serves and the strong rise in demand for Peek polymer In addition to moving to a new headquarters building in Hofheim, Victrex Europa has been adding more high calibre specialists to its team in a move that will better serve the needs of both customers and industry partners throughout Europe

In July 2001, the market development team for Germany and the Benelux was reinforced by Jurgen Reinert.

In Italy, Reinhard Veljovic was appointed Manager for the country in October and is co-ordinating Peek polymer sales and market development.

Veljovic has brought many years of business experience in Italy to the job.

From January 2002, Jerome Viala, Manager France since June 2001, will be supported by Didier Padey in the sales and market development of this important region.

Both the French and Italian teams will be supported from the European headquarters in Hofheim, Germany, by Sales Assistant Diana Weber.

Previously, Italian and French customers were served through Victrex' distributing partner, LATI Industria Thermoplastici, who laid the foundation for a highly promising expansion.

Now, with its own local teams, Victrex Europa is concentrating on strengthening co-operation directly with new end users and processors.

LATI will continue to represent Victrex Europa's business interests in Spain and Portugal.

In Eire and Northern Ireland PEEK polymer will now be sold through Dell polymers, based in Longford, Eire.

Specialists in the distribution of engineering plastics, Dell Polymers will ensure a qualified service throughout this region and, together with Victrex, expects this to bring considerable benefits to customers and processors.

On 1 October, Mape Plastics took over distribution of Peek polymer in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Mape Plastics, which has a strong focus on the sales and market development of high performance polymers, combines extensive experience of Peek polymer with a comprehensive knowledge of the Scandinavian market.

The company replaces Distrupol who represented the interests of Victrex Europa in Scandinavia until September 30 this year.

Further market expansion comes with a recently signed agreement between Victrex and Novadim, a Belgian company headquartered in Brussels.

Novadim is a specialised distributor of plastics in the Middle East, Russia and Africa and, with the exception of Israel, will undertake the sales and market development for Peek polymer in these regions.

Victrex plc, which has its sales, technical and production headquarters at Thornton Cleveleys in Lancashire, UK, had a turnover of more than £58m in the last financial year.

The company exports 98 percent of its Victrex Peek polymer output to OEMs in the automotive, industrial, medical, food and electronics market sectors in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
