Vipa has revised its UK marketing strategy with the appointment of Mark Jones as UK National Sales Manager and new distribution agreements.

Vipa, the German manufacturer of innovative PLC and PC based automation solutions has revised its UK marketing strategy with the appointment of Mark Jones as UK National Sales Manager and new distribution agreements with Wyko Industrial Services and other selected leading integration partners Vipa's extensive range includes PLC and PC based automation solutions for centralised and decentralised control for the majority of fieldbus systems with full pin and instruction set compatibility with Siemens S7-300, S7-400 and S5 S5-115U/135U/155U

Current Vipa products include the System 100V, 200V, 300V and 500V which offer varying levels of performance from small and simple to extremely complex machine control applications for modular DIN rail and PC slot mounting.

All ranges offer CPUs with memory expansion, fieldbus expansion modules, digital and analogue I/O modules, terminals, HMIs and an extensive array of accessories to support integration into new or existing applications.

The new UK marketing strategy has been planned to coincide with the recent launch of Vipa's latest product range, the Speed7, billed as the world's fastest PLC with a minimum cycle time of 100us and full compatibility with Siemens Step7 providing 50,000 instructions in just 1ms.

With flexible memory from 64Kbyte to 1Mbyte and integrated Profibus DP-Master interface, the Speed7 is set to excite the automation industry.

Mark Jones is relishing the challenge of his new position with VIPA: "There has not been a revolution in the PLC marketplace for decades", says Jones, "maybe VIPA can now provide some excitement".

He adds: "Right now we are establishing a strong foundation of support for our products in the UK and we will be announcing further details of the new Speed7 and our existing range over the coming months".
