Virtalis, best known for being Europe's top virtual reality company, has decided to get physical by becoming a reseller in the UK for 3D Systems' InVision product range.

Tony Brown, the Virtalis engineering sector expert, explained: "We have always provided the knowhow to help our customers develop virtual prototypes and so accelerate time to market, but until now, by sticking with the virtual, we have had a missing piece in our rapid prototyping jigsaw".
"Realistically, once people have designed a new product in CAD and then transformed it into a 3D virtual model, many then also want to inspect a physical prototype".
"We've gone to the company that first developed the technology for 3D printing and is still the market leader".
Mike Kelly, UK Country Manager for 3D Systems said: "We enable our customers to rapidly convert their digital designs into physical parts thanks to our fiendishly clever additive layer systems".
"Simply put, we take a digital input from a solid 3D CAD design or a scanned image and, through one of three levels of machines in the InVision range, convert that data from the digital input to a physical reality".
Michele Marchesan, InVision Channel Manager for Western Europe, added: "This technology requires no special skills to operate and has low running costs, so can be profitably shared by an entire office".
"The InVision range of 3D printers contains three versions: the LD desktop model from GBP 14,900, the lowest cost 3D printer in the UK and Ireland; the SR mid-range model ideally suited for general engineering and product development costing from GBP 38,400; and the HR high-resolution model, which is used extensively by the jewellery industry, from GBP 51,400".
David Cockburn-Price, MD at Virtalis, commented: "Much of what we do is about time compression technology".
