Head mounted displays aid VR visualisation
Virtalis has been appointed the UK distributor for Rockwell Collins Optronics head mounted displays.
Having partnered with Rockwell Collins Optronics (formerly Kaiser-Electro-Optics) in many virtual reality applications over the years, Virtalis has now been formally appointed as the Rockwell Collins Optronics distributor for head mounted displays (HMDs) in the UK.
RCO is one of the world's longest established manufacturers of HMDs and currently have a wide range of different products, each designed for specific types of use.
An example is the new ProView SR80, which was designed for comfort during extended operations, has a wide field of view and is being deployed in a range of markets, particularly military.
David Hendon, Virtalis' Defence Expert, commented: "We have specified several RCO HMDs in recent years for our clients".
"We supplied XL50s with both our Virtual Gunnery System for the Royal Navy and for our Rear Crew Trainer for the RAF".
"We chose these over other HMDs, because we needed to be certain of rugged, day in day out performance, a good field of view and a high contrast ratio".
