Virtalis has strengthened its world-renowned technical development team by recruiting three new people.

Andrew Connell, Technical Director at Virtalis, said: "Over the past dozen years, the team has achieved many breakthroughs in advanced visualisation and has played a part in turning VR from a fledgling concept to the mature technology we have today".

Joe Kemp, Senior Programmer, is helping to lead the development of Virtalis' new integrated framework architecture with special reference to cluster management.

Having previously worked in the virtual reality industry in Berlin, where he created a multi-purpose physics engine for visualisation software, Kemp is expected to help shape Virtalis' technical future.

He said: "I actually started programming at the age of seven, so this job was my destiny".

Warwick Shaw, Hardware Engineer, is a recruit from Salford University's audio visual department where he joined straight from completing his degree in computer and digital product technology.

He describes himself as a "grease monkey with brains".

He commented: "I am being kept very busy learning how to make integrated VR systems as well as attempting to learn about the plethora of products we sell".

Mark McGlinchey, joins Virtalis straight from the University of Abertay's Computer Games Technology degree where he learnt visualisation techniques.

He explained: "Under the guidance of the dev team leader, Richard Davies, I am learning about loading animated models and am finding that working with this technology everyday is really speeding up my development".

David Cockburn-Price, MD at Virtalis, commented: "The growing success of Virtalis means we have a greater number of projects under development, as well as a greater diversity of them too".

"The boost provided by these new 'techies' will be felt by our clients who are clamouring for ever shorter project delivery times on ever more challenging assignments".
