Reverse osmosis equipment removes particles

An Elga Process Water product story

Elga's new models use low-pressure membranes which remove up to 98% of dissolved inorganics and over 99% of large dissolved organics, colloids and particles.

Elga Process Water has released new reverse osmosis equipment.

The new models use low-pressure membranes which remove up to 98% of dissolved inorganics and over 99% of large dissolved organics, colloids and particles whilst keeping operating costs to a minimum.

Competitively priced to appeal to the industrial user of boiler make up, cooling and process water, these RO units are self-contained and designed to blend into the modern plant room environment.

Control is by means of a sophisticated microprocessor controller accessed via an HMI style panel which gives a clear display of flow, pressure, water quality and temperature, together with operational status and error messages.

The controller provides a volt-free alarm contact and a 4-20mA analogue signal to transmit treated water conductivity to a distributed control system (DCS) Building Management System (BMS) or other PLC based systems.

Automatic permeate diversion to drain on start-up is standard, to ensure that water quality is achieved and maintained, as is automatic timed re-circulation to avoid membrane fouling during idle periods.

The miniRO reverse osmosis units produce from 10 to 90 litres an hour of high purity permeate in a compact wall-mounted design that incorporates a 5um cartridge pre-filter.

Designed for simplicity, the miniRO models will operate on most mains water supplies without softening.

The free-standing midiRO units produce from 90 to 330 litres an hour of permeate from a softened water feed, and the emphasis is on minimum footprint with RO modules mounted vertically.

The midiRO units use a more versatile controller with the addition of an alarm logging facility.

For larger applications the maxiRO (0.5 to 3m3/h) is also a free-standing compact design with stainless steel pressure vessels, again mounted vertically.

The maxiRO can be supplied with optional antiscalant or sodium bisulphite dosing equipment which simply "plug-and-play" using the standard controller.

The largest units in the range, the megaRO, give outputs from 3.5 to 15m3/h.

The megaRO units are of conventional skid-mounted design with horizontal RO modules, and incorporate the same microprocessor controller.

Automatic permeate diversion to drain on start-up is an option on the megaRO, as is antiscalant or sodium bisulphite dosing.

All the models can be directly coupled in series to create a twin-pass arrangement and can be provided with blending facilities where specific water quality has to be met.

Automatic pH monitoring and control is a further option on the larger units.
