Quick fit for universal flange adapter

Available initially for 3in/DN80, 4in/DN100 and 6in/DN150 nominal diameters, the new nuts and bolts have a Twin-Start thread complemented by a Sheraplex low-friction PTFE coating for ease of assembly and maximum tightening speed.

The introduction of the Twin-Start bolts - believed to be a first for pipe joints - coincides with a comprehensive re-engineering of the MaxiDaptor design using finite element analysis and 3D modelling.

The new version satisfies Viking Johnson's rigorous test standards, such as short and long-term pressure tightness and AREL accelerated ageing tests.

It has also passed independent vibration tests, confirming that the bolts maintain the appropriate torque in service.

The bolt torques are unchanged.

MaxiDaptor is just one of the couplings in Viking Johnson's MaxiFit range, the UK's leading pipe jointing product.

It creates opportunities to reduce stocks by accommodating plain-ended pipes with different outside diameters in all common materials - steel, ductile and cast iron, PVCu and asbestos cement.
