A new joint-venture company has been established to manufacture API 6A and 6D trunnion-mounted ball valves for pipelines and offshore platforms.
Velan Srl is a new joint-venture company established to manufacture API 6A and 6D trunnion-mounted ball valves for pipelines and offshore platforms.
The new company is based in a 3700m2 office and plant in Mezzago, Italy, just outside Milan.
The President, Roberto Bartolena, is a valve industry veteran with extensive experience in designing and manufacturing trunnion-mounted pipeline ball valves.
Velan is also an experienced ball valve manufacturer, and has been manufacturing API 6D ball valves in North America for the oil and gas industry for many years.
In fact, Velan has held the API 6D Monogram for ball valves since 1993.
The establishment of a new company in Milan enables Velan to expand its current product line and offer the most comprehensive range of ball valves available from any manufacturer.
Velan's product line includes bolted body, welded body and top entry API 6D trunnion-mounted ball valves in 25-1600mm sizes and ASME pressure classes 150-2500 for a variety of standard and severe services, including cryogenic, offshore, sub-sea and underground.
Furthermore, bolted body and top entry API 6A ball valves are available from API 2000-15000lb/in2.
As with the entire range of Velan valves, these valves take advantage of many advanced design features that ensure long, trouble-free service life.
