One noteworthy application for Verderlab tube pumps is their use in the preparation of bone marrow cells.

When handling this biologically sensitive cell material, the plasma is taken from the donor and stored in sterile plastic bags before being pumped into a centrifuge to achieve the target fraction of cell material.

During this process the highly sensitive cellular tissue must be kept sterile and transported in such a way that the volume is not altered and the cell structure suffers no mechanical damage from the pumping action.

Verderlab CD and SR pumps were selected for this application specifically because of their pulsation free pumping action.

Since the pump capacities can be controlled and regulated electronically, the bone marrow cells are not subject to damage when transferred to the centrifuge.

Thanks to their dual pump heads, Verderlab CD tube pumps are also being used very successfully in other areas of the pharmaceutical industry, for example in the preparation of plasma proteins.

The process of injecting the plasma protein into the continuous working separators uses a pulsation free mode of action, thus creating sensitive, reproducible and registered plasma products.

Verderlab CD pumps have a secondary rotor which operates at an identical speed with fewer rollers, but which can deliver a higher flow range - a small vacuum is created simultaneously.

The centrifugal process is enhanced significantly through the suction of the centrifugal action.

All dosing processes are designed to operate with an RS232 connection, in strict accordance with the statutory medical, FDA and PEI regulations.
