Ice Cream manufacturer, Granelli McDermott uses a Genie pump to transfer raspberry sauce at its factory in Cheadle, Cheshire.

Ice Cream manufacturer, Granelli McDermott uses a Genie pump to transfer raspberry sauce at its factory in Cheadle, Cheshire.

The new unit cost 50% less than the traditional filling machines used at the plant, and site personnel have commented on the versatility of the Genie pump.

The old-style filling machines feature a built-in hopper for the sauce that has to be topped up manually to prevent the units running dry and overheating.

Because the new Genie can run-dry and self-prime, it can be connected directly to the sauce tanks, saving on labour and simplifying the process.

Granelli has been so impressed with the Genie that the company recently ordered a second unit for a similar application.
