Yorkshire Water was experiencing low reliability and high maintenance costs in relation to plunger sludge transfer pumps.

The transfer of highly abrasive primary sewage sludge is a continuous requirement for operation of the treatment works.

Verder supplied and installed the Verderflex VF125 - the world's largest peristaltic pump - to remarkable effect.

The performance of the pump exceeded expectations providing increased transfer rates combined with service intervals and cost reductions that far exceeded the original equipment.

Not only does the treatment works now operate with much increased reliability, ownership costs have been significantly reduced - the end result being the installation of a second unit on another area of the works.
