Pump handles difficult scrubber
application
Johnson Matthey is now using several Verdermag TB series pumps with an 11kW motors at its Enfield site.
Verder has provided Johnson Matthey in Enfield with the solution to a difficult fume scrubber application with the installation of a Verdermag TB series pump with an 11kW motor Before using the Verder pump, two other makes of mag drive pumps had lasted less than a month before failure occurred

Verder describes the Genie as a new concept in pumping technology.
In discussion with Mike Gould of Johnson Matthey, Verder recommended a mag drive ETFE-lined pump that has been designed to pump liquids with a solids percentage of up to 20%.
The pump was provided on a trial basis for a period of six months and on completion of this Mike Gould, the Maintenance Manager expressed his complete satisfaction with the pump and agreed to keep it in service.
In total the pump ran for a period of 18 months, after which it was removed for inspection and returned for testing and evaluation.
Johnson Matthey has now bought a number of these pumps for various applications on its Enfield site.
