Flow visualisation kit is "the real thing"

A VisEng product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 10, 2003

A novel portable flow visualisation kit allows a designer to see the actual flow of liquids inside a system or component: not a computer simulation or an approximation but the real thing in real time.

Very busy times for VisEng are approaching from the flow visualisation sector of the company.

Flow visualisation is a test technique that allows a designer to see the actual flow of liquids inside a system or component, not a computer simulation or an approximation but the real thing in real time.

It can be used for everything from optimising the flows round F1 cars to sorting out cooling flows for electronics.

VisEng has developed a portable flow visualisation kit in combination with the University of Warwick that goes beyond everybody's expectations.

This breakthrough enables manufacturers to conduct their flow visualisation in-house to ensure that performance, endurance and efficiency of engineered components are not affected due to unpredicted flows.

Technical Director Geoff Calvert says: "Our in-depth research and development period has finally paid-off, both for us as well as our customers.

With our portable flow visualisation kit we can now offer the best solution for real flow visualisation at a very affordable price".

This lightweight kit guarantees mobility and features Firewire connectivity.

Calvert adds: "This kit truly is a winner, because initial interest already is vast although completion of the development won't be before February 2003".

As further evidence of VisEng's commitment to testing excellence the stress analysis sector has also been enhanced with new equipment.

The newly developed edge stress device (Edge Master) has been tailored for the glass industry and determines very accurately the critical stresses in the glass.

The ease of use, accuracy and mobility are the winning formula of this equipment.

Calvert says :"Independent 6-Sigma (Gauge R and R) tests have certified exceptional results delivering higher quality at a lower cost which is a powerful selling tool for the customer, beating the competing optoelectronic devices by far.

The equipment is bound to become a standard for every glassmaker in the world".
