After 32 years of leading Vertex Fasteners, David M Hirsch has relinquished his title of President to Executive Vice President and COO Mark Alperin, who has served with the company more than 15 years.

After 32 years of leading Vertex Fasteners, David M Hirsch has relinquished his title of President to Executive Vice President and COO Mark Alperin, who has served with the company more than 15 years Alperin will retain the title of COO and Hirsch will function as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

"Mark is a dedicated employee and a great asset to our company," said Hirsch.

"His expertise is unquestionable and I look forward to continuing our work together as we build the business and expand product offerings for our customers." Alperin will continue to oversee daily operations.

Prior to Vertex, Alperin served six years as vice president of strategic planning at LF Rothschild, Unterberg and Towbin, an investment firm for high-growth technology companies, and two years with the Washington Redskins organisation.

He received his BA from Dartmouth College in 1980 and MBA from Duke University in 1982.
