VTI Technologies Oy is opening a sales office in Tokyo, Japan, on 1 July 2006 and will provide local technical and commercial support to VTI customers in Japan.

VTI Technologies Oy is opening a sales office in Tokyo, Japan, on 1 July 2006.

The sales office will provide local technical and commercial support to VTI customers in Japan.

VTI has collaborated with Akebono Brake Industry Co, in automotive projects in Japan since 1994.

VTI and Akebono will continue the cooperation to expand their automotive business in Japan.

Tomy Runne, Area Manager, Asia/Pacific, of VTI has been appointed as Head of the sales office.

VTI's premises are centrally located in Tokyo, in Toranomon area, with good connections to Greater Tokyo as well as to the rest of Japan.

To start with, the personnel of the sales office will consist of two or three persons.

The sales office will offer local customer service, provide technical support to VTI sales staff in Japan and strengthen VTI's position in new markets.

Establishing the sales office supports VTI's strategy to expand its operations and to achieve a strong market position also in areas outside the automotive industry.

Japan has traditionally been a strong market area for VTI and the company sees for example personal navigation and sports and wellness industry as new interesting application areas.
