New version of mould design package announced
VX Corporation has announced the addition of new industrial-strength tools, interoperability features and performance enhancements which aim to enhance its VX mould design package
The new resellers will add to a strong, but geographically limited existing VX reseller organisation in Europe.
"VX has been steadily building its presence globally over the past year," said Bob Fischer, vice president of sales and marketing at VX.
"By extending our reseller organisation into all European countries, we can dramatically expedite customer support, particularly in those regions that have high concentrations of mold makers and metalworking companies.
CAD/CAM software for these companies is a mission-critical application and requires local support." Since launching new version 5 of VX Overdrive in June, VX Corporation has gained wider recognition as an innovator in the CAD/CAM market, earning an Editors Choice Award from Cadence magazine and being named Product of the Month by NASA Tech Briefs.
"The media and users alike are becoming more aware of the performance benefits of VX Overdrive," said Karl Schubert, managing director of VX Europe.
"We expect this trend to continue, so we are creating a broader reseller network to meet increased international demand." In recent related international moves, VX announced at the annual meeting of the Industrial Design Society of America the formation of an international council of industrial designers to advise the company on software enhancements that will make CAD an easier, more accessible and widely used product design tool.
The new council mirrors the VX international Mold Maker Advisory Council, which has helped VX integrate sophisticated mold making functionality previously not available in CAD/CAM products in the VX price range.
"Because large companies increasingly do business on a global basis, the experiences of our current partners in Europe and Asia will help guide our reseller development," said Fischer.
