VX will be used exclusively in the new dedicated design suite at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in the UK The University of Central Lancashire, located in Preston with a student population of over 22,000, is noted for having one of the best design programmes in Europe

The university's new CAD suite is equipped with 15 high-end HP computers all exclusively running VX CAD/CAM software.

"We're delighted with having the good fortune of using VX CAD/CAM software as the foundation for our design engineering programme".

"VX's design modelling with advanced hybrid solid/surface modelling and Class A surfaces provides our students with excellent training for careers in the product, industrial, ceramic and 3D design fields", said Graham Hill, Senior Technician at UCLAN.

"Since there is such a short learning period for VX, our students are able to focus much more of their time on learning good design engineering practices as opposed to having to spend an inordinate amount of time learning the software".

"This was an important factor in helping us to make our selection".

"VX software is such a good fit for the University of Central Lancashire".

"We're pleased we were able to work with the university on getting VX accepted as their design tool of choice", said Ian Mason, Director of Informed Data Systems, the UK distributor for VX CAD/CAM solutions.

"No other mainstream CAD/CAM program can match VX's design capabilities along with the method in which VX integrates the design through manufacturing process with built-in mould design tools and CAM milling".

"The adoption of VX CAD/CAM by the University of Central Lancashire further validates the value of the integrated design through manufacturing system inherent in VX CAD/CAM", said Bob Fischer, VX Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

"The beauty of VX in an educational setting is that design students get an exposure to manufacturing practices while manufacturing students get an exposure to the design process which ultimately helps to make better products faster and increases the value of students to the work force".
