Further seats of VX CAD/CAM, VX's flagship hybrid modelling solution, have been added to the installed base at Gillette's Advanced Technology Centre (GATCUK) in Reading.
There is another kind of assembly that changes it's configuration through the movement or re-assembly of its components.
Clever assemblies such as combination ladders, all-in-one picnic table and chair sets, and foldable bicycles fall into this category.
When a VX designer is working on a multi-configuration assembly, he or she can instantly swap from one configuration state to another.
It's all controlled within the "main" assembly model, so it is fast, convenient and conserves memory.
What is very cool about this is that the saved configuration states can be synchronised with views of a 2D drawing layout, delivering instant line drawings for use in technical documentation such as assembly instructions and maintenance manuals.
Bob Fischer, VX Vice President, Sales and Marketing said: "VX assembly management offers something very special in the MCAD arena and delivers performance that exceeds competitive products, yet the price is well within reach".
