The MLC Motor Load Control provides an efficient low cost solution to the prevention of damage to industrial electric motors caused by overload, jamming, loss of load or pump dry running.

The new MLC Motor Load Control provides an efficient low cost solution to the prevention of damage to industrial electric motors caused by overload, jamming, loss of load or pump dry running.

Manufactured by Load Controls Inc USA, the product is available in Europe from sensing specialist Vydas International Marketing.

The unit is surface mounted for ease of installation and displays true power (Volts x Amps x Power Factor) on a large easy to read bright red digital LED display.

Both high and low power trips with adjustable on delays and individual trip timers are standard features.

The low power trip, when used to detect dry running, is up to ten times more sensitive that of conventional undercurrent relays.

The 4-20mA analogue output and individual trip relays allow the flexibility of pump or motor control and process performance monitoring.

The unit is designed in a rugged sealed waterproof polycarbonate enclosure with transparent door allowing visibility of motor power or percentage of full load.

A high power trip is provided for the detection of problems such overloads, jammed impellers, bad bearings or blocked outlets and a low power trip provides detection of low load or no flow conditions such as loss of prime.

The product is compatible with 3 phase motors ranging in size up to 240kW, operating on supplies between 230V and up to 460VAC.

Trip levels are also displayed on the meter by depressing a set-read switch, and may be easily set to the correct levels by screwdriver adjustment.

Both start-up and trip delay timers are included to prevent nuisance tripping.

The MLC is suited to a wide range of applications in industry and works extremely well with tasks such as protecting pumps of all types, including seal-less or magnetic drive, centrifugal, positive displacement, process and sewage pumps.

In addition, monitoring electrical power and motor load allows the product to be used to solve production problems anywhere electric motors are used, such as conveyers, fans, compressors, rollers, grinders etc.
