Display interference from electromagnetic waves can be dramatically reduced with Warth International's conductive coated polyester screening material CCP-175, an alternative to bulky shielded windows that employ an internal mesh to provide shielding.
The polyester is only 200mm thick, and offers over 80% light transmission.
As it does not rely on wire mesh, there is no risk of moire fringing when it is mounted close to the primary display source, for example an LCD, CRT or plasma screen.
The CCP-175 can be fitted between the display and the protective plastic outer screen of the device.
The shielding is provided by a fine sputtered layer of silver that provides over 99% shielding between 100KHz and 10GHz (E Field).
The increasing number of display driven electronic devices, such as laptops, oscilloscopes and palmtops must all be manufactured in accordance with the European EMC directive on emission and susceptibility, and the CCP-175 is ideally suited to be incorporated as a retrofitted item or within new up and coming designs.
Due to the thinness of the polyester, the CCP-175 is also relatively flexible, allowing it to be fitted to many curved or gently contoured surfaces.
This offers engineers greater latitude in product design and chassis style, than is available with standard shielded windows.
It is also exceptionally light, so it can be used in handheld devices such as mobile phones, or music players without compromising product usability.
