Wago to exhibit terminal block at SPI 2009

A Wago Corp product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 27, 2009

Developed for solar inverters, Wago's 828 Series Feedthrough Terminal Block is to be shown at Solar Power International 2009.

The 828 Series Feedthrough Terminal Block offers features to simplify the feeding of currents up to 40A (AWG 6) through enclosure walls.

Utilising Cage Clamp Spring Pressure Connection technology, all 828 Series terminations are tool- and maintenance-free.

Unlike conventional screw terminal blocks, 828 Series users lift the lever, insert a stripped conductor (AWG 16-6) into the termination port and lower the lever.

There are no torque specs to follow, no specialty tools required or preventative maintenance plans needed to ensure long-term termination integrity.

Cory Thiel, Wago Interconnect product manager, said: 'With the 828 Series, installers can access the sub-panel and make field connections quickly and intuitively from the lever-operated 828 'field side'.

Electronics are protected behind the enclosure from the elements and unauthorised access.' Rated at 300V/40A, the 828 Series features single-piece construction to simplify panel opening and eliminate alignment issues during panel assembly.

An integrated lockout feature accommodates a security seal or similar tagout marker, limiting unauthorised access to external terminations.

A Wago-exclusive panel gasket seal provides a splash-resistant seal to the enclosure for additional protection and reliability.

Cage Clamp terminations ensure terminations are resistant to temperature cycling and corrosion, as well as gas tight.

Additional 828 Series uses include HVAC control panels, lighting controls and generators.
