Soraluce CNC milling machines improved further
Faster production cycles, higher quality surface finishes and 'dual' machining capability are on offer with the new high-speed electro-spindle now available for Soraluce CNC milling machines
Utilising the speed and comprehensiveness of RM's Armadillo to conduct in-depth reports, Ward CNC was able to launch the Powerturn vertical boring, turning and milling centre at the MACH 2000 exhibition.
The machine was launched complete with logo and Ward CNC was confident that their research cleared the mark for use in the marketplace.
As a result, Ward CNC reports that the machine not only attracted much attention at the show, but in the ensuing months has also been well received by its potential user base within the aerospace, automotive, defence, energy and heavy engineering sectors.

Union machines to be distributed by Ward CNC
Ward CNC of Sheffield has been appointed exclusive UK distributor for the Union range of CNC horizontal live spindle machining centres manufactured by Union Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH of Chemnitz, Germany
Indeed, the latest Powerturn 1600 C-M 2APC twin-pallet three-axis model sold in the UK has been installed and commissioned in a leading aerospace manufacturing company.
Powerturn is available in two- or three-axis versions with table sizes up to 4,000 mm (double column version) and with main motors rated from between 40 kW to 100 kW.
Among many attributes, the machines feature an innovative tool change system that promises users impressive reductions in tool costs with added production flexibility.
After Czech Republic machine tool manufacturer, Toshulin, announced the availability of its latest series vertical boring, turning and milling centres through its exclusive UK distributor, Ward CNC, the Sheffield-based machine tool specialist wanted to brand the machine as a reinforcement of its powerful production capabilities.
Having selected Powerturn as the possible title, Ward CNC simply accessed Armadillo's Web-based service (www.rmonline.com) to conduct its own research to discover if Powerturn was applied for, or registered as an existing and potentially conflicting trade mark.
Providing instant and low-cost access to UK (including those filed via the Madrid Protocol system, designating the UK) and Community Trade Marks, Armadillo reduces the time and expense incurred in attempting to develop and register a mark that already exists.
At a starting price of only ?3.50 per name, Armadillo can produce effective answers in just five minutes compared with a traditional search that could take up to five days! Trademark searches can be conducted to include images, logos, devices or shapes in black and white or colour as well as word and/or slogans.
Armadillo search options also include identical mark, full phonetic as well as optional logo device searches.
Armadillo services are available 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world on a pay-as-you-go basis via the Internet.
In addition, Armadillo offers a full range of off-line international trade marks and registrations services.
