Watson-Marlow Bredel will show its latest range of peristaltic pumps for the food industry at Foodex 2004.

Watson-Marlow Bredel will show its latest range of peristaltic pumps for the food industry at Foodex 2004.

On display for the first time in the UK will be the new 520 process IP66 NEMA 4X pumps and the 323Dz/D dispensing pump for repeat filling duties in QC laboratories.

The new 520 pumps were designed to meet the needs of processing and manufacturing environments where exceptional robustness is key.

Providing flow rates up to 3.5 litre/min and a speed control ratio of 2000:1, the 520 incorporates a high quality gearbox and brushless DC motor.

Combining extraordinary levels of functionality with on-screen menus, a large high visibility display and easy-to-use tactile membrane keypads, there are three drive options available - manual control 520S, remote auto and analogue control 520U and the manual/auto control 520Du with RS485 serial communication.

The new Watson-Marlow 323Dz/D dispensing pump features a wipe-clean membrane keypad - a real advance over conventional switches and much preferred by operators wearing protective latex gloves.

Fast, accurate and sterile dosing can be triggered manually or remotely - 100ml can be dispensed in 3s for example, keeping dispensing time to a minimum and reducing waste.

Peristaltic pumps are suitable for a wide range of applications within the food industry - the transfer of sea food and soft fruit, to accurate dosing of flavours and syrups, and even removal or waste such as potato slurry or meat byproducts.

Flow rates range from microlitres to 80m3/h.

The unique benefits of peristaltic pumps - low shear, hygiene, ease of use and cleaning, self-priming, dry-running and low maintenance means they are probably the fastest growing pump design in the food industry today.

Engineers will be available on stand to answer any questions about the products on show and to discuss the many benefits of peristaltic technology for the food industry.
