Specifically designed for OEM applications, 400 Series peristaltic pumps from Watson-Marlow Bredel are available as single- and multi-channel units for both low- and medium-flow applications.

The 400 Series is ideal for high accuracy dosing and metering in clinical, diagnostic, laboratory and medical applications.

Mikura, a West Sussex based designer and manufacturer of laboratory equipment, has used the 400 series for a selection of microplate instrumentation products for immunoassay testing, where precise fluid transfer of small amounts of fluid is paramount.

Easy cleaning and maintenance is one of the main reasons why many OEM designers turn to the 400 series.

With removable tubing there is no risk of contamination of the fluid or pump, making them perfectly suited for analytical, hygienic and sterile applications.

Although there are a large number of standard pumps available, the modular design of the 400 series allows off the shelf products to be tailored to meet customer requirements, or totally bespoke solutions created.

In Mikura's case, a selection of 400 series pumpheads, including two eight-channel and three two-channel applications were manufactured specifically for cleaning test tubes.

The pumps in the 400 series range also offer the functionality of accepting variable tube bore sizes, which further increase the flow range, adjustable occlusion settings for increased pressure capabilities, and the use of special Y tube elements that combine flows from two tubes to create a single, low-pulsation flow.

All the pumps in the 400 Series range are exceptionally compact and lightweight, and so can easily be accommodated into most equipment housings.

A range of 12 or 24V DC motors or synchronous AC motors, further enhances the customer's choice.
