Last week saw the official opening of a new extension to the Weightron Bilanciai weighbridge manufacturing plant in Chesterfield.

Last week (14th October 2005) saw the official opening of a new extension to the Weightron Bilanciai weighbridge manufacturing plant in Chesterfield.

The opening was conducted by Luciano Diacci, the Bilanciai Group President, and visitors included other senior management from Italy together with members of Bilanciai companies from Portugal, The Netherlands, Germany and France.

Weightron has witnessed impressive growth over the past seven years, and is proud to be part of the renowned Bilanciai Group based in Northern Italy.

The company's structure and business ethos allows individual group members to maintain their own identities, while benefiting from the Bilanciai corporate strength.

Weightron's founder and Managing Director Ray Catt is extremely positive about the future and as he concludes: "The opening of the new factory is an important milestone in our company's continued success, especially coming at a time when we hear so many negative comments about the rapid decline of the UK's manufacturing base".

"This GBP 500,000 investment endorses our future commitment to our customers, employees and the local community".

"The new facilities, which incorporate special welding fixtures and a state of the art rotating paint jig developed in Italy, are crucial to our growth, allowing us to improve manufacturing throughput and maintain our marketing edge".

"Our business is expanding in several directions and we are actively putting in place the right infrastructure to ensure we meet the increased demand for our products, systems and services in a timely fashion".
