Wedeco UV Systems helps provide fresh water for the offshore industry.

Most people do not give it a thought, but drinking water is hard to come by in the middle of the ocean.

Providing fresh water on an accommodation platform has its own set of logistics.

In all cases the water provided needs to be fit for drinking.

Wedeco UV Systems was tasked to supply suitable equipment which meets the exacting standards required by the offshore industry.

The UV equipment is sited on the roof, 30m above sea level.

It is designed to withstand all that the North Sea can throw at it, including operational temperatures down to minus ten degrees centigrade.

Wedeco UV Systems won the contract to supply SLP Engineering with the UV purification plant for Conoco's accommodation platform.

The platform is situated 115 miles off the Lincolnshire coast in the Caister/Murdoch Natural Gas field, supplying natural gas to the mainland.

The entire platform was in position within a 39-week build schedule.
