A new range of plastic hand wheels and crank handles with steel inserts are ideal for upgrading equipment for use in clean environments such as those found in the medical and food industries.

The range offers a cost effective corrosion and chemical resistant solution for low profile adjustment operations in all types of equipment from articulated beds to multifunction machines.

The new handles offer designers a highly versatile and cost effective alternative to all-steel designs and are available in two basic designs.

Hand wheels are available to suit a wide range of applications and are supplied in seven different colours and ten different sizes, from 80 to 160mm in width.

Other options include a choice of standard or stainless-steel bosses set into the tough thermoplastic body, a particularly useful option if the end product will be subject to washdowns or other intensive cleaning practices.

Methods of rotation vary from the standard "fixed revolving grip" to a foldaway design that promotes compact and snag-free operation.

If simplicity of design and unit cost are also considerations, convenient "finger slot" versions are available that offer a super low profile due to the complete absence of a protruding handle mechanism.

For applications where more leverage is required, WDS has introduced two thermoplastic crank handles with a choice of square or reamed steel inserts.

Again they are available with a standard fixed revolving grip or a design which folds back into its body for hassle-free operation and storage.

A super tough glass-fibre-reinforced crank handle design is also available with a fixed revolving grip.

The handles are ideal for use in industrial and processing applications and are supplied with all-bakelite grips in seven colours with a choice of steel, stainless or brass inserts.
