Quick-action cam clamps speed assembly

Three new designs of cam clamps offer a speedy and economical work-holding solution for milling, drilling and grinding applications.

Three new designs of cam clamps offer a speedy and economical work-holding solution for milling, drilling and grinding applications The quick manual action of the Standard, Compact and Hook clamps allows for secure holding of components of differing thickness without readjustment of the clamping spindle

Made from tough hardened carbon steel and chemical blacked for corrosion resistance, the clamps offer a convenient solution for holding a broad range of materials on various jigs and machining plates.

Traditional clamps with threaded fasteners are often time consuming to set up, making them particularly awkward to adjust for small production runs and mixed applications.

WDS' Standard cam clamp assemblies however, are easily mounted, quick to set up and compensate for objects that vary in thickness without the need for adjustment.

The clamping force is generated by the action of a roller on a cam and, by taking advantage of the long handle, users can generate a sufficient force to hold a broad range of items even at arms length.

A sprung heel pin ensures a smooth release and that the clamp edge position is maintained for the next item.

For more robust applications or when space is restricted, Compact versions are available with a central clamping point, which offer a greater clamping force (1.45kg) in a smaller design.

By centrally pivoting the cam lever on the spring-loaded heel bolt, instead of the attachment stud, leverage is maintained yet the flexibility to hold various profiles is increased.

Ideal for small to medium range production runs, WDS offers the new Hook clamp which has the same vertical clamping action of standard hydraulic units, but at a fraction of the cost.

The centrally placed cam lever allows for high clamping forces and variations in workpiece thickness, both of which can be increased with the use of height extensions and support elements also available from WDS.

If companies need the same benefits of compact design, height variability and vertical action, yet want to minimise costs, WDS also supplies budget hook clamps with a collar design that works with screw threaded fasteners instead of cam levers. Request a free brochure from WDS ...
