The latest Spencer Franklin catalogue from WDS offers a range of hydraulic work-holding systems designed to speed up the loading, unloading and clamping of parts in jigs and assemblies.
The latest Spencer Franklin catalogue from WDS offers a range of hydraulic work-holding systems designed to speed up the loading, unloading and clamping of parts in jigs and assemblies.
Customers can specify complete new systems or upgrade/replace components ranging from Mini Boosters to seven ton Open Ram heads from one easy-to-use source.
Manual or automatically activated clamps are available for a broad range of metalworking applications including presswork, finishing, machine bed mounting and assembly operations.
Industry applications range from automotive to aerospace, encompassing a large percentage of general manufacturing.
The 40-page colour catalogue offers technical information on the specifying of single components and complete hydraulic clamping systems.
Pages are laid out in the standard easy-to-use WDS format with images, detailed drawings and simple reference charts.
Featured products include the flexible Hydraclamp range of bench mounted clamps that hold any fitment or jig, allowing users easier access to all parts of the product or component being manufactured.
For speeding up light duty fabrication and finishing operations, the catalogue includes the Miniclamp that fits custom jigs, lock grip pliers and suction plates.
For heavier applications such as assembling seats in the automotive industry, WDS has added its new SF-1440 Hydraclamp offering up to 150kg of holding force with the same footprint as the lighter duty clamps and is lighter than the heavy duty Hydraulic SF-1500 units also featured in the catalogue.
Other products include Open Ram flange mounted heads for use on machine baseplates that can offer an effective clamping area of 13.47cm2, and a stroke of 100mm with an operational oil pressure limit of over 352 kgf/cm.
These come with or without return spring assemblies and can offer removable contact bolts for easier customisation.
Other models provide seven tons of holding force from an effective holding area of 31.42cm2 while other options for clamping objects on flat surfaces include single and double port PowRslide Clamps and the reduced profile, low line horizontal baseplate mounting clamps.
The Powlock range covers the activation end, which includes Lever Pumps and Hand Pumps that can work with containers of 3.3 litre and over while using complete output cycles of 25cm3 and maximum operational pressures of 175kgf/cm2.
Dual displacement pumps give up to 60cm3 output at up to 2500psi operational pressure from a 2.9 litre or larger container and only require 18kgs of manual force on the lever.
Air/oil boosters such as the PowRlock Minibooster in the catalogue offer a maximum oil output of 31.4cm3 at an intensification ratio of up to 49:1 and the largest version - the high volume Zoom ATC Booster offers a maximum oil output of 463cm3 at an intensification ratio of up to 64:1.
Reservoir assemblies as well as foot operation kits are also included and foot operation kits are available for the Hydraclamp range.
The other five titles in the WDS range of general industry catalogues include 'Machine Accessories', 'Workholding', 'Broaching', 'Indexing' and 'Standard Parts', which cover over 10,000 items with 96% stock availability for next day delivery.
The latest versions of the printed catalogues are available online with the majority of components also available as live 3D CAD download files in virtually any current CAD format.
