Westermo Data Communications is to run two new hands-on training courses in the UK, to provide a greater understanding of the latest industrial networking and datacommunications techniques.
Westermo Data Communications is to run two new hands-on training courses in the UK, which will look to provide a greater understanding of the latest industrial networking and datacommunications techniques available for industrial use.
Ethernet is increasingly used in industrial networking applications and the "Introduction to Industrial Ethernet" course will address this exciting development by covering basic Ethernet theory, TCP/IP, Ethernet switching, RS232/485 over Ethernet and remote access to Ethernet.
The modular course is predominantly hands-on with students building real networks using laptop PCs, Ethernet switches, serial servers, convertors and industrial routers.
A second new course, "Introduction to industrial datacommunications" covers the basic theory on a number of important areas such as serial datacommunications, RS232, RS422/485, as well as PTSN, leased line and GSM modems.
Again the course is very much hands-on with laptops, RS232 isolators, RS232 to RS422/485 convertors, multidrop modems, PTSN/lease line modems and GMS modems at the students' disposal.
The scheduled courses are based at Westermo's new training centre at Hedge End, Southampton, but onsite training is available if required.
The following dates are now available: "Introduction to Industrial Ethernet" 26th and 27th May 2004; "Introduction to industrial datacommunications" on 28th and 29th April 2004.
The cost of a two-day course is just GBP 500.
