Partnership can deliver GPRS and GSM connectivity for remote applications to allow industrial networking and temporary or remote communications anywhere in the UK where there is GSM or GPRS coverage.
Westermo Data Communications has formed a partnership with wireless connectivity firm Wyless to deliver GPRS and GSM-based connectivity for remote applications.
The partnership offers robust, simple to manage industrial networking and temporary or remote communications anywhere in the UK where there is GSM or GPRS coverage.
Westermo can supply GDW-11 GPRS modems for evaluation complete with a Wyless SIM card installed and ready for use.
The Wyless fixed IP SIM card provides UK wide coverage as well as the possibility of cross network overseas roaming and allows its customers to benefit from diagnostic, management tools and consultation services.
"Wyless has taken the pain out of delivering GSM and GPRS applications," said Alan Bollard, Managing Director of Westermo.

The advantage of a fixed IP address is that it enables two way communication to remote devices while still taking advantage of the low cost that GSM and GPRS connectivity offers.
GSM and GPRS can effectively extend a network to remote sites, and devices can be contacted as and when required.

Wyless is a mobile virtual network operator for data, providing simple, manageable and reliable global connectivity and access to wireless devices.
The company has built a partitioned carrier grade GPRS bearer service, networked with 154 mobile operators worldwide providing an enhanced network and associated services.
Wyless' network configuration permits the simple provision of applications requiring capabilities such as fixed IP addressing, device-to-device connectivity and improved security.
