Over 250 delegates were entertained and brought up to date with the very latest industrial networking techniques at a recent series of regional one-day events across the UK.
Westermo Data Communications kept over 250 delegates entertained and up to date with the very latest industrial networking techniques at a recent series of regional one-day events across the UK.
The packed-to-capacity conference and training days focused on GSM/GPRS, industrial Ethernet and wireless Ethernet, but also gave delegates an insight into all types of industrial networking.
Aimed primarily at OEMs, system integrators and end users of industrial data communications, the well received events featured a series of technology and application presentations as well as hands on training and practical demonstrations.

Three in-depth technical presentations all given by members of the Westermo UK team addressed the topics of GSM/GPRS, industrial Ethernet and wireless Ethernet individually.
The emphasis was on explaining the technologies, describing suitable applications and pointing out any potential pitfalls.
In parallel with the presentations were hands on training sessions, run by members of the Westermo technical and training departments, for GSM/GPRS modems and serial to Ethernet convertors.
Participants were specifically given experience of setting fixed IP addresses and establishing connections to serial devices over Ethernet and GPRS.
In addition to the presentations and training there were also live working demonstrations of remote PLC communications, Profibus connectivity, Ethernet timeserving, redundant-ring Ethernet, radio telemetry and industrial modems.
