The DR-200 is an industrial ADSL router, compatible with current and future requirements in remote telemetry and intended for industrial control system applications.

The DR-200 uses ADSL broadband technology, enabling communication with remote sites at speeds up to 8Mbit/s.

It has a four-port Ethernet switch and a Dsub25 RS232 serial port for local connections.

The RS 232 port can be used to connect serial devices (PLC, RTU or I/O).

It can also be used as an alternative or backup in conjunction with a Westermo modem in the case of ADSL line outage.

The DR-200 router has a built-in firewall and five IPsec VPN tunnels, secured by 3DES, AES, SSL and SSH encryption protocols and MD5 and SHA1 key exchange protocols.

It has optional support for up to 50 VPN tunnels.

These functions, based on the latest security technologies, ensure the protection of remote sites against denial of service attacks and hacking.

The VPNs (virtual private networks) increase security and enable the establishment of secure encrypted links between several sites.

The result is a virtual dedicated line, using a simple commercial ADSL internet service.

The VPNs are generally used as replacements for high-cost dedicated leased lines.

The VPN tunnels can be terminated by a DR-200 ADSL bridge/router.

The DR-200 is supplied with a complete mounting kit for DIN rail, wall or shelf installation.

Its tough metal case, its temperature range of -20C to 60C and its 24V DC power supply enable use of the DR-200 in severe environment applications.

The DR-200 can also be used on a remote site to browse, edit or modify the web pages of a PLC or a device connected to the network.

It can handle e-mail transmission and file transfer via an FTP server.

It also supports VRRP (virtual redundant router protocol), allowing a single gateway address to be shared between several routers and providing multiple WAN backup paths.

For complex network applications the DR-200 supports OSPF and RIP2.

The Ethernet interfaces support multicast IGMP, VLAN, SNMP, SNTP, FTP and the standard TCP, UDP and DHCP protocols.

If ADSL access to sites is not available, Westermo can supply a GPRS router (MR-200).
