Routers handle harsh environments
ED-200 and ED-210 routers combine the functions of a switch and a packet filter for short or long distance network interconnections.
Westermo Data Communications has released a range of industrial Ethernet routers with integrated four-port switches As PPP routers they employ dial-in or dial-out, and are used to link several local Ethernet networks or to gain access to a remote Ethernet network

Fast-recovery switch keeps industrial Ethernet up
The OnTime R-208 Ethernet switch enables high-reliability, fast-recovery, redundant ring industrial Ethernet installations, particularly in critical applications.
They provide high levels of security and handle harsh environments, making them suitable for applications as traffic signalling, water treatment, aerospace, petrochemical and mining.
ED-200 and ED-210 routers combine the functions of a switch and a packet filter for short or long distance network interconnections.
The ED-200 has an RS-232 or RS-422 standard serial port.
It offers a wide range of communication possibilities when using standard Westermo PSTN, ISDN, GSM or radio modems.
The ED-210 has an integrated V.34 PTSN modem equipped with transient protection on the line side and a "watchdog" that monitors and automatically resets the modem in the event of a fault.
To guarantee a high level of security, both the ED-200 and ED-210 provide multiple-user identification or call-back security and passwords along with a simple IP level firewall.
They have galvanic isolation and enhanced surge/transient protection on all ports, and an extended working temperature range of - 25C up to +70C.
This enables the devices to be used in projects where a high degree of reliability is required.
Connection of the ED-200 with an external Westermo modem is totally transparent, so no additional software is necessary.
Communications statistics are easily available everywhere in the network, using a web tool.
